Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is currently undergoing a major facelift which includes completely redesigned rooms and common spaces. This renovation will be complete by Spring 2025. We stayed in a newly renovated Pool View Master King. These 584-square-foot rooms feature one king sized bed, a sofa bed, refreshment center and incredible views of the pool from the terrace. Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos offers multiple room categories, including swim-up suites, ocean-view rooms, and even multi-room family units – ideal for larger families or groups.
Pools: A Paradise of Relaxation and Fun
When it comes to pools, Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos delivers! With multiple pool areas, there’s something for every family member. The expansive family pool is perfect for those looking to splash around and where fun activities like pool volleyball and tunes can be heard by the DJ take place. If you are looking for something a little quieter, the adults-only pool offers a serene escape set apart from the rest of the resort. This is actually one of the largest adults only pools I have seen at a family resort- I was quite impressed! There is even a pool bar in this area serving up snacks and beverages so you really never need to leave if you don't want to.
Kids will love the water park featuring splash zones, water slides, and other aquatic fun. There is also an infinity pool offering spectacular ocean views. The swim up bar can be found here.
All the pools at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos are surrounded by lush landscaping and comfortable lounge chairs, making it a great spot to unwind under the sun while enjoying poolside snacks and drinks.
Cabanas for the Ultimate Relaxation
Let me tell you about what quickly became our favorite splurge at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos - the pool and beach cabanas! We rented one for each day of our stay, and I'm telling you, it was absolutely worth it! These aren't just any cabanas - they're your own private slice of paradise with cushioned loungers, shade, and the most attentive service imaginable to take
vacation mode to a whole new level. Our cabana attendant greeted us each morning with fresh towels and immediately took our drink orders. The highlight? Having fresh coconuts delivered right to our cabana each afternoon! There's something magical about sipping coconut water straight from the source while gazing at those brilliant Sea of Cortez views.
Here's the best part - I can pre-arrange these cabanas for all my clients before you even arrive at the resort! While other guests scramble each morning to claim loungers (you know the drill - the early morning towel game), my clients simply stroll up to their reserved cabana whenever they please. No rushing, no stress, no disappointment. It's exactly these kinds of details that transform a great vacation into an exceptional one. Trust me, after experiencing the cabana life at Hyatt Ziva, you'll never want to vacation any other way!
Beach: A Gorgeous Oasis by the Sea
The beach at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is a beautiful stretch along the Sea of Cortez in San José del Cabo, Mexico. This is definitely a great beach for walking! I walked along the shores for an hour in each direction one day and it was not only a great way to get in my steps, but also provided beautiful views.
It's important to note that swimming is not recommended here due to strong undercurrents and rough surf conditions. This is common for many beaches on this part of the Baja Peninsula.
My teen boys loved the beach because of all there is to do. From beach volleyball, to horseshoes, Spike Ball, paddle ball and corn hole- they never were bored. Having multiple activities for my active teens was definitely a deciding factor when choosing where to stay for our vacation.
Dining: Culinary Delights for Everyone
One of the standout features of staying at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is the dining experience. With several world-class restaurants on-site, you’ll never run out of options. From casual beachside dining to gourmet cuisine, there’s something for every palate. The resort offers multiple international restaurants, including Italian, Asian, and Mexican cuisine, all served as part of the all-inclusive package. For breakfast you can choose to dine at the expansive buffet or order room service.
For lunch, we especially loved the food trucks around the pool area serving fresh tacos and quesadillas. There is also a smoothie bar in the morning serving delicious fresh smoothies and juices and the in the afternoon serves up fresh ceviche.
Activities: Adventure and Entertainment for All Ages
One of the best things about Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos are the endless activities happening around the resort all day. From poolside games to water aerobics, beach yoga, cooking classes, and tequila tastings, we found there was always something exciting happening during our stay! The entertainment team keeps the energy high, and we loved how easy it was to join in or just relax and watch - your vacation, your choice! The evenings were just as great with shows that genuinely impressed us. The Mexican folklore performance had incredible costumes, and the acrobats had our jaws on the floor!
Need some adult time? The KidZ Club is one of the best I have seen. For children 4-12, this place is paradise with arts and crafts, video games, and a mini water park that kids can't get enough of. I love how the staff incorporates Mexican culture into activities like piñata making and treasure hunts.
There is also a space for teens to hangout and make new friends while playing ping pong, foosball, videogames and more. They even have classes dedicated to teens like a mocktail class! Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos has figured out how to keep every age group happy.
Zen Spa - Pure Relaxation
If you have been following me for some time, you know that I visit the spa at every resort I stay at. Market research of course! The Zen Spa at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos did not disappoint! After days of family fun, I needed some me-time and this spa delivered perfectly. Walking in, I was immediately enveloped in the calming scent of essential oils and the gentle sound of flowing water that instantly lowered my stress levels.
I treated myself to an amazing massage that left me feeling completely renewed - the therapist seemed to know exactly where I needed attention and used the perfect amount of pressure. Later that day, I brought back my husband so we could enjoy the hydrotherapy circuit together. We moved between the sauna, the eucalyptus-infused steam room (which cleared my sinuses like magic!), and braved the cold plunge pool that was shocking but invigorating. We finished in the hydro pool where the massaging jets targeted every sore muscle - I could have stayed there for hours! The entire experience felt like pressing a reset button on our bodies and minds. If you're heading to Hyatt Ziva, add the Zen spa to your vacation itinerary!

It's All About Location!
Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is located in San Jose del Cabo and a quick taxi to the Plaza Mijares. Whenever we go to Mexico, our family loves to experience the local culture. The charming main square of Plaza Mijares completely captured our hearts and provided a glimpse into the authentic culture of Los Cabos. Located behind the landmark Catholic church, this cobblestone plaza transforms each Thursday evening from November through June into the vibrant Art Walk, where the streets close to traffic and become a pedestrian paradise from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. We loved walking around and admiring the local artist works and popping in and out of shops. We also had some delicious meals here too! When my clients book a vacation with me, they receive a destination guide complete with all my favorite places to eat at off resort. Passing on my first hand knowledge to my clients is always something I love to share in order to enhance my client's vacations.
Honorable mention
The gym at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is not to be missed! I love to vacation but I don't love to miss my workouts so I always appreciate a good gym at a resort which can be hard to find. The gym here is an impressive 2,900 sq. ft. and equipped with free weights, ellipticals stationary bikes and treadmills. They also have fitness rooms for group classes.
